The guide to office coffee breaks in Brussels: quantities, packages and the right timing
It is 4 p.m. Morning coffee is a distant memory, the next meeting starts in ten minutes and someone has just said the word ‘sweet’ out loud.
That is the signal.
IN SHORT
For an office coffee break, PICKLES recommends two to three pieces per person across all categories.
Two pieces are enough for a light break. Three offer real choice: one fresh option, one indulgent option and an extra little treat.
There are two drinks packages:

THE RIGHT MIX, NOT LEFT TO CHANCE
A successful coffee break is not necessarily the biggest. It is one that lets everyone quickly find something they fancy.
The principle: one fresh option and one indulgent option.
For something fresh, choose a fruit salad or a fruit basket to share. For the treats, create a selection of mini cookies, muffins, doughnuts, tartlets, mini pastries or petits fours.
Two to three pieces per person are enough, provided both categories are represented. There is no need for five different desserts if the first 20 colleagues all make a dash for the same cookies.
WHAT TIME SHOULD YOU SCHEDULE DELIVERY?
Cookies, muffins, doughnuts and other dry products can be delivered earlier in the day.
For fruit salad, tartlets and fresh preparations, schedule delivery closer to the break or refrigerate the order immediately, following the storage instructions.
No refrigerator at the office? Mention it when ordering. The PICKLES team will suggest the most suitable delivery slot.
A refrigerator on site gives you more flexibility, but fresh products should still be refrigerated as soon as they arrive.
WHAT SHOULD YOU BUDGET?
For drinks, allow:
€2.50 per person excluding VAT with the PAUSE EXPRESS package;
€3.50 per person excluding VAT with the PAUSE CAPSULE package.
For food:
For 20 people, allow from €6.50 per person excluding VAT for a PAUSE CAPSULE package and two mini sweet treats. For a true mix of fresh and indulgent choices, budget around €8 to €10 per person excluding VAT, excluding transport.
A NOTE ON TRANSPARENCY
Unlike breakfast, the coffee break currently has no dedicated vegan or gluten-free package.
For an allergy or special dietary request, contact the team before ordering. They can check exactly what is possible for your group and clearly identify the different items.
